THE 25th OF OCTOBER: THE DAY OF KARATE "Okinawa-te" and "To-te", respectively Okinawa hand and Chinese hand were arts that were inherited in the Ryukyus since old times. To face popularization and the development of its sport side, karate grand masters of the time met on October 25th of 1936 in Naha City to decide of the Chinese characters for the word "Karate". From this day, karate as it is written today was born.
Today, karate is practiced in 150 countries and is said to have a population of 50,000,000 people. 70 years after, the birthplace that is Okinawa remembers, and to the request of the Okinawa karate world, the Okinawa Prefecture Assembly declared in March 2005 that from now on, October 25 would forever be the "day of KARATE".

The World Oshukai Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate Do Kobudo Federation (Yomitan, Okinawa – Japan) is made up of people who are working very hard to develop the Okinawa Traditional Karate. The World Cup Games and International Seminars are important to promote friendship and improve karate techniques.
